San Agustín de Canterbury

«No te pido que los saques del mundo sino que los guardes del mal». 

Cuando el mundo nos decía en la tele «quédate en casa» nuestro ángel nos decía en el corazón: «quédate en Cristo, porque si te quedas en casa y no te refugias en Cristo aunque te libres del coronavirus no te librarás del pecado».

Ahora los medios de comunicación nos dicen que podemos salir de casa con mascarillas y guardando las distancias, y nuestro ángel: «vosotros permaneced en Cristo porque si salís de Cristo nada podrá guardaros del mal pero si permanecéis en Cristo nada podrá haceros mal». 

La fe vence al mundo. Cada rosario, cada comunión, cada Misa, cada confesión contrita y cada acto de verdadera caridad es una victoria sobre el mundo al que solamente le importa la salud del cuerpo y la riqueza material. 

San Agustín de Canterbury fue, en el siglo VI el evangelizador de Inglaterra como San Patricio lo había sido de Irlanda. Los grandes misioneros nos recuerdan en todos los tiempos esta verdad: «la fe vence al mundo». 

No olvidemos que estamos en mayo: cada rosario y cada mirada amorosa que dirigimos a la Virgen en una victoria de la fe.

"My prayer is not that you take them out of the world but that you protect them from the evil one."

When the world told us on TV "Stay home" our angel told us in our hearts, "Stay in Christ, because if you stay home and do not take refuge in Christ, even if you get rid of the coronavirus, you will not get rid of sin".

Now the media tells us that we can leave the house but with masks and keeping our distance, and our angel tells us, "Remain in Christ because if you come  away from Christ, nothing can protect you from evil, but if you stay in Christ nothing can hurt you ."

Faith defeats the world. Every rosary, every communion, every Mass, every contrite confession and every act of true charity is a victory over the world, which only cares about the health of the body and material wealth.

Saint Augustine of Canterbury was, in the sixth century, the evangeliser of England as Saint Patrick had been of Ireland. The great missionaries remind us at all times of this truth: "Faith overcomes the world."

Let us not forget that we are in May. Every rosary and every loving gaze that we dedicate to the Virgin is a victory of faith.
